Os Gemeos is Portuguese for 'The Twins', which fits accordingly as this graffiti is composed of not one, but two men. Identical twins, hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil. They started in 1987 and quickly jumped to the top of the street art scene, drawing influence from family portraits, brazilian folklore, and the social and political states of which they grew up in. Their style is part street, part hip hop, and all parts original as they have created huge murals and installments featuring their yellow-skinned, lively characters in galleries across the world including our favorite, Deitch Projects. They were even asked to paint the highly guarded trains and subway cars in Brazil, legally, if you can believe that. Which they of course did, with great execution. This book serves as a collection of their work, and its colors and visually stunning images are sure to be a centerpiece on anyones coffee table or book collection.
