Lightning Bolt started in the early seventies when surfers and shapers Gerry Lopez and Jack Shipley met while the y both shaped for Surfline Hawaii. The Bolt instantly became a classic surf icon of the 70's, and it stood for the best of the best, especially while Lopez was tearing it up on every surf mag and movie of the time. Now Lightning Bolt exists through that legacy, during a time of innovation and surfing progression.
