The newest addition to our bookcase, Barry McGee's 'The Buddy System' is the catalog printed in conjunction with his show at the Deitch Projects in New York back in 1999. Upon opening, one may be fooled at the blank pages, as if it were a joke on you by McGee. Do not let this surprise you as we suspect this is an attempt by TWIST himself to inspire the reader to create his own thumbprint on the book. The second half of the book is a series of photos and images brought to you by Barry McGee, chronicling his show at Deitch. From old grainy B/W photos to colorful, bright red and tan brushstrokes from this Beautiful Loser from San Francisco. We're stoked to have gotten our hands on this priceless gem and we hope you are to. Cheers to leaving your own mark on society. One point against The Man!
